After the new 2019 Nissan Altima was successfully launched earlier this year in the United Arab Emirates and across the Middle East, the company has announced that the 2.0-litre VC-Turbo engine version is now also available to purchase in the region.
Nissan’s new VC-Turbo engine is the first of its type to be production-ready in the world, and it comes with improved efficiency and performance on top of the low and wide exterior appearance already associated with the Altima.
A new elevated luxury experience has also been introduced by the new vehicle via its interior design united with a couple of new powertrains as well as advanced Nissan Intelligent Mobility features.
The new VC-Turbo engine is among the most advanced internal combustion engines ever created, continuously making adjustments to its compression ratio in order for greater levels of efficiency and power.
With the news that the new engine is now available in the UAE, replacing the 3.5-litre V6 engine from the previous generation, Altima enthusiasts in the region will now be able to enjoy the same performance of the vehicle while also getting superior efficiency.
The managing director of Nissan Middle East, Thierry Sabbagh, says that the company is thrilled to be able to make the announcement that the new 2019 Nissan Altima is now available in the UAE and throughout the Middle East, with the vehicle honouring Nissan’s commitment to uplift the experience of users with ground-breaking new technology.
Sabbagh adds that the engine advancements to an existing model that already had affordable, luxury, “cutting-edge performance” and “exhilarating style” will only increase the demand for what is already one of the most popular product lines in the region.
The VC-Turbo offers enhanced performance, resulting in an increase in fuel economy of up to a double-digit percentage.
When operating, the engine provides for any compression ratio that lies between 8:1 (high performance) or 4:1 (high efficiency).
The VC-Turbo delivers 248 horsepower at 5,600 revs per minute, and 273lb-ft of torque at 4,000 revs per minute (with premium fuel).
The power output of the new engine is higher than that of most of its turbocharged gasoline engine rivals and nearer to the kind of performance normally delivered by V6 petrol engines.
The new 2.0-litre VC-Turbo also doesn’t need as much space in the engine bay as the previous 3.5-litre V6 that featured in the previous generation of Altima to be released in the UAE.
The cylinder head’s integrated exhaust manifold is partly responsible for the compact engine packaging and also helps to improve turbo response, while the catalytic converter gets hot quickly in order to generate lower emissions.
The engine also provides lower levels of NVH. Both fuel direct injection and multi-point injection are used in the VC-Turbo engine in order to ensure that both power and efficiency remain balanced under all conditions.
Anyone who is thinking of buying or driving the new Nissan Altima will need to take out car insurance in order to legally do so in the UAE.
