UAE prepares for the world’s greatest electric road trip

EVRT Dubai 2020 will soon commence its fourth consecutive event and on a much grander scale than was previously the case.

The electric road trip, which spans five days and more than 1,000 kilometres, is an eagerly anticipated event and in 2020 will see Generation.e partner up with the top regional automotive portal YallaMotor to encourage the region’s move toward smarter mobility.

Generation.e is the name of the entity that supports the worldwide acceleration of the adoption of electric vehicles.

In Q1, the two companies will be investing as much as $300,000 in a marketing campaign designed to encourage the Middle East to adopt electric vehicles.

The EVRT Dubai 2020 edition begins on 25th March.

The road trip will cover a number of thrilling sights all around the United Arab Emirates and will showcase electric vehicles from all over the world in order to speed up the growth of adoption and highlight the benefits offered by smarter mobility.

Generation.e has run EVRT events in the Middle East as well as Africa and Europe and is now preparing to transform the event into the ‘World’s Greatest Electric Vehicle Road Trip’.

Just seven manufacturers of electric vehicles are to be selected to take part in the EVRT Dubai 2020 event, and 100 participants who share a singular vision from all over the world will be coming together.

A total of 25 electric vehicles will drive across the UAE in convoy, and the event will also see the unveiling of a number of new charging stations situated across the road trip route.

The CEO and co-founder of Generation.e, Ben Pullen, says that this year’s event will be bigger and better and will build on the success of previous years by gathering together the world’s greatest and latest electric vehicles.

The 2020 event is intended to showcase the choices that businesses, consumers and governments will be able to make as new electric vehicle models are launched into the market by worldwide automobile manufacturers.

The primary challenge for end users when choosing an electric vehicle will soon be the sheer number of available choices, which marks the beginning of a new era for such vehicles in the 2020s.

The 2020 edition is also set to feature a competition for vehicle manufacturers and participants in the form of the World Regeneration Challenge, a worldwide event staged at the Jebel Jais Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah.

This event is intended to put the spotlight onto the regenerative breaking benefits offered by electric vehicles.

The broad influence base of EVRT Dubai 2020 makes it the perfect platform for international manufacturers and distributors that are currently in possession of or are planning to launch electric vehicles into their fleets over the next few years.

The mission of Generation.e is to create societies that are more sustainable and better connected by transforming to smarter mobility.

Anyone who drives a motor vehicle, electric or otherwise, in the UAE is legally obliged to take out at least a basic form of third-party car insurance.
