The Fédération International des Véhicules Anciens (FIVA) has given recognition to the prestigious international event known as the UAE Concours d’Elegance.
The event is a showcase for some of the rarest classic, modern and vintage supercars in the world.
FIVA has been supervising the way that classic vehicles are promoted all over the world for more than half a century.
The organisation was originally founded in 1966 in conjunction with a number of classic car clubs and associations from a variety of nations.
The aim of the organisation has always been to promote classic vehicles and focus on the interests of its owners.
Over 1.5m enthusiasts across 64 different countries and more than 85 member organisations are represented by FIVA.
These include the likes of the Emirates Motor Sports Organisation, which used to be called the Automobile and Touring Club of the UAE.
The primary objective of FIVA is to encourage the safe use of mechanical, self-propelled motor vehicles over the age of 30 for the benefit of dedicated enthusiasts, car owners and the general public at large.
The 2019 UAE Concours d’Elegance event is set to be held in the marina area of Bulgari Hotel and Resort, which is situated in Jumeirah Bay in Dubai.
The event will run over a three-day period from 12th to 14th December.
The UAE Concours d’Elegance chairman Mana Al Suwaidi says that the organisation is honoured to have become a part of the annual FIVA calendar.
Al Suwaidi adds that the move also means that collectors of classic vehicles in the United Arab Emirates and the rest of the Arab region will be highlighted in front of the whole world.
The prestigious nature of the UAE Concours d’Elegance will only increase further with recognition from FIVA, according to Al Suwaidi.
The 2019 UAE Concours d’Elegance event will see 30 of the world’s rarest cars showcased together with 30 of the most valuable supercars of the modern age, with aficionados and collectors coming together to share their experiences.
The combined value of the vehicles is as much as $200m.
The three-day show will see owners and collectors celebrate the passion, individuality and one-of-a-kind craftsmanship of these amazing works of automobile art.
A number of related events and activities will also be hosted by the UAE Concours d’Elegance.
These include breakfasts, lunches and dinners with selected prospect groups and/or clients, and entertainment includes live music and an activation area for associated brands.
Al Suwaidi says that the aim of the UAE Concours d’Elegance event is to create excitement in the collecting community and with those who are passionate about supercars and vintage vehicles.
The UAE Concours d’Elegance event is now positioned to be the ultimate destination to experience this passion in the region.
