The new 2020 Toyota GR Supra has been launched in the United Arab Emirates by Al-Futtaim Toyota following a 17-year wait, to the delight of the country’s loyalists and fans.
The designers and engineers at Toyota had to come up with a sequel to the legendary motor vehicle legacy that began more than 40 years ago back in 1978.
The brand-new fifth-generation model has quite a difficult legacy to live up to, but is now back to hit the road again with a return befitting of the name of the Toyota Supra.
The Toyota GR Supra evokes power and beauty as well as the thrills that come with a vehicle capable of delivering a stunning performance.
The vehicle embodies the characteristics associated with a world-class sports car and will only enhance its existing reputation.
Now, the much-anticipated version of the Toyota GR Supra has arrived in the UAE and is sure to become number one in its segment with its race-to-road technology.
The 2020 Toyota GR Supra came into being at the most difficult race track in the world, Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife.
The driving pleasure caused by the driver-car relationship is a pursuit that has been the hallmark of the development of the Supra, according to the head of the car’s development, chief engineer Tetsuya Tada.
Tada says that the new model reacts in the way that drivers want and is great to drive.
The straight-six turbocharged engine delivers genuinely exhilarating acceleration and provides a solid torque that elevates it to a sublime level, Tada adds.
Tada also says that it is not just about the numbers involved but also the feeling of driver and vehicle becoming one, which was the primary consideration throughout the car’s development.
The car is intended to hug the surface of the road in a correct manner and offers superb stability and great confidence when driving, no matter the condition of the road.
Toyota ceased production of the previous fourth-generation Supra model almost two decades ago.
The original Supra debuted in 1978 and quickly gained its positive reputation.
However, it took until the 1990s for the Supra to begin to encroach on the kind of province that was normally the territory of only the most exotic and expensive US and European supercars.
The fourth-generation version made its debut in 1993, upsetting established competitors by punching well over its weight and becoming an icon of car culture and even a movie star, gaining millions of admirers from all over the world.
Al-Futtaim Toyota’s managing director Saud Abbasi says that 2020 marks the return of a genuine automotive icon and that he is certain that enthusiasts all across the UAE will be impressed by its stunning performance.
Anyone who is intending to purchase and drive the new 2020 Toyota GR Supra or any other motor vehicle in the UAE is legally obligated to take out car insurance coverage before they hit the road.
Car insurance protects drivers against the financial cost of unforeseen events such as accidents and theft.
