Fujairah recorded 12,894 road accidents of all types in 2025, with 9 deaths and 235 injuries.1

Facts are as of 6 November 2026. Your policy is the same unified policy wherever you live in the UAE, so cover, excess and claims are in the guides. This page covers what differs in Fujairah.

Who do you call after an accident in Fujairah?

For a minor accident with no injuries, use the Saaed app. Fujairah Police agreed with Saaed in January 2014 and launched the Saaed app for minor accident reports in January 2021.23 Gulf News named the MOI or Saaed app for Fujairah in December 2025.4 Saaed’s undated locations page lists a site in Fujairah.5

For a major accident, Fujairah Police launched a smart service with Saaed in September 2025 to speed up major accident transactions.6 Fujairah Police’s own e-service catalogue lists no accident report service, so the report comes from Saaed, not the police portal.7

The fee you pay in Fujairah is not published. MOI shows AED 500 for a minor report and names no emirate.8 Press reports give Dh400 for a report against an unknown vehicle.9 Check the amount in the app before you pay. Fujairah Police’s To Whom It May Concern certificate has five types at AED 20, none of which names a traffic accident.10 Steps and how insurers use the report are in the accident report guide.

Where do you register, test and renew your car?

Fujairah Police’s Traffic Department is the registration authority. Renewal is a federal MOI service at AED 350 for a light vehicle, with a new car exempt from the test for 3 years from its year of manufacture, a used car required to pass the test, and 13 months of insurance in place.11 Three routes to the test are specific to Fujairah.

Federal fees for heavier vehicles are AED 400 or 650 for 3 to 12 tonnes (private or public), AED 800 or 1,000 over 12 tonnes, and AED 120 for a private trailer.11 Documents, grace periods and lapsed registration are in the registration renewal guide.

The yearbook records 51,407 vehicle registration transactions in Fujairah in 2025, of which 33,710 were light vehicles and 8,276 motorcycles; 16,481 were new registrations and 34,926 renewals.1

Do you pay tolls in Fujairah?

No. u.ae names toll systems for Dubai and Abu Dhabi only.15 You pay Salik when you drive into Dubai. See the Salik guide.

What is the speed limit on the Fujairah to Khorfakkan road?

100 km/h, down from 120 km/h, from Tuesday 13 October 2026. Fujairah Police announced the cut with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and asked drivers to follow the new signs rather than the old limit.1617 No radar setting was announced, so treat the sign as the enforcement speed. The National reported that an index published in August 2026 by Bin Yaber Driving Institute, a Dubai driving school, placed Fujairah second-lowest of the seven emirates for road safety, ahead of Umm Al Quwain, citing above-average death rates and the highest average driving speed in the UAE. The index is the school’s own analysis, not a police or Ministry ranking.16

Fujairah Police publish no street-by-street list like Dubai or Ajman. Read the sign on every road. The sign is the legal limit, and from 1 January 2027 the federal regulation says speeding fines are calculated from it. Fine bands and the 2027 rules are in the speed limits guide.

Can you get a discount on your fines in Fujairah?

Only during a campaign, and none has been reported in 2025 or so far in 2026. Fujairah Police ran 50% campaigns every year from 2021 to 2024.18192021 The 2024 offer ran from 2 December 2024 to 23 January 2025 for violations committed before 1 December 2024, excluding serious violations, which the reports do not list.2122 Fujairah Police have announced discounts only through these campaigns. Fines and points are federal: see the traffic fines guide and the fine discounts guide.

What do you do when rain damages your car?

Apply for a certificate of vehicle damage from rain through the police station service in the MOI UAE app, attaching photos that show the plate and the ownership card. That is the route Fujairah Police gave after the July 2022 floods.23 No fee was stated. Photograph the car, its plate and the water level before anything is moved. Whether your policy pays is a question of cover: see the flood insurance guide.

How safe are Fujairah’s roads?

The Fujairah Statistics Centre yearbook carries Ministry of Interior figures for every accident type, so its totals are far larger than the Ministry’s national serious accident series.

Fujairah Statistics Centre, Chapter 11.1 Emarat Al Youm reported the same figures from issue 29 of the yearbook in May 2026.24 Falling and other accident types make up the rest of the totals.

Fujairah Police’s in-year counts line up with the yearbook: 8,296 accidents, 4 deaths and 158 injuries from January to August 2025, and 11,747 accidents, 7 deaths and 201 injuries from January to November 2025.2526 MOI’s open data file “Traffic Cases 2025” records 56 traffic cases opened in Fujairah in 2025, the lowest count of the seven emirates, below Umm Al Quwain’s 59. The file does not define a case, so it measures something different again.2728 TomTom put Fujairah’s 2025 congestion level at 23.2%, with 29 hours lost in rush hour over the year.29 National series are in the UAE traffic statistics study.

Which insurers are based in Fujairah?

Al Fujairah National Insurance Company, AFNIC, is the one insurer on the Central Bank’s September 2026 register that carries the emirate’s name. It is listed as a national insurance company, number 11.30 Its ownership page shows the Fujairah Government’s Department of Industry and Economy holding 80.07%.31 Its car cover, claims route and company details are on the AFNIC page. Insurers from other emirates sell here through branches; Al Buhaira lists a Fujairah branch.32 Where an insurer is based does not change your policy wording, which is set by the Central Bank’s unified policy.
