What to know before you insure your Territory
| Your question | The answer | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Is your 2027 Territory four-wheel drive? | No. All seven 2027 versions, petrol and hybrid, are front-wheel drive. | Check your policy if you plan to drive off-road. |
| Is your Territory petrol or hybrid? | Four versions have the 1.8L EcoBoost petrol engine at 190 hp. Three have the 1.5L hybrid at 148 hp, with a 60 kW electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. | Tell your insurer which engine your car has. |
| Has your Territory been recalled? | A 2023 model could have been. A UAE recall of 21 May 2023 covers steering column bracket welds, and the inspection and fix are free of charge. | Ask your dealer whether the work was done on your car. |
| Want the dealer to do your repairs? | This is called agency repair, and it depends on your car’s age. Al Wathba limits it to cars up to two years old, Al Sagr and Orient Motor Plus to three. After year three, it is up to your insurer and an extra premium. | Ask how many years your policy includes it. |
| Would a flood be covered? | Not under standard terms, which exclude natural disasters. Some insurers add flood or storm cover. | Check your policy names flood and storm. |
