DNI car insurance
DNI sells comprehensive car insurance, which it calls Loss Damage and Third Party Liability, and Third Party Liability cover. Its Auto Care Scheme page sets out a 13-month comprehensive cover with agency repair, and it sells fleet cover to businesses.

Check before you buy
- Replacement parts are subject to depreciation under the UAE unified motor policy, Insurance Authority Decision No. 25 of 2016.3
- The car must be driven by someone holding a valid UAE driving licence.3
- If a claim dated before renewal is submitted after the renewal date, the new insurance is treated as void and cancelled.3
- If you submit false or wrong information, the quote is void and cancellation charges may apply.3
- Cancelling after the policy is issued is subject to fees. You can apply for a refund if you sell or export the car in the first 8 months, or take out other insurance on it. There is no refund after the 8th month, and refunds are only processed on policies with no reported claims. Online purchases are refunded by cheque, collected from DNI's offices.28
- Private policies have certain restrictions if the vehicle is mainly used for commercial purposes.5

The personal motor claims page says Gold and Classic card holders can use it on accident or breakdown. The card leaflet lists services for Silver, Gold and Platinum members: towing, battery boost, emergency fuel delivery with the fuel at your cost, lockout help, flat tyre change, and desert off-road help for 4x4s within the UAE. DNI's fleet claims page gives 800 247 772 for roadside and 800 4101 for the International Motoring Club, and the Arabic side of the leaflet gives 800 4101.7
Steps
- Call 600 5 80000 for immediate help if you hold a DNI comprehensive policy or were hit by a vehicle insured with DNI.7
- Get the original police report.7
- Report the claim on the online form and upload your licence, car registration card, Emirates ID or passport, and the police report.8
- With agency repair on a comprehensive policy, you may go straight to the agency with the documents and tell the motor team.7
- Otherwise message the claims contact center on WhatsApp at +971 600 580000. The self-service portal guides you to a workshop.7
- Get approval before going to a garage. Without it, DNI can move the car to another workshop unless your schedule says otherwise.7

Financial strength
AM Best says underwriting has been under pressure: its combined ratio, which compares claims and costs with premiums, was 104.2% for 2024 and 99.8% at the third quarter of 2025. A property claim from Al Habtoor Motors, a related party, recognised in April 2024 and revised to AED 600 million, is mainly covered by reinsurance and was still being assessed at 30 June 2026. The notes to the 2025 financial statements give gross written premiums of AED 686.9 million for 2025. The events list in the same report gives AED 560.5 million, the figure it reports as insurance revenue.

No. DNI is Dubai National Insurance & Reinsurance, listed on the Dubai Financial Market as DNIR, and Dubai Insurance Company (dubins.ae) is a separate insurer.21

Can I cancel a DNI car policy and get a refund?
You can apply if you sell or export the car in the first 8 months, or take out other insurance on it, and no claim has been reported on the policy. DNI's refund page says fees apply and there is no refund after the 8th month.28
