It sells car, health, home, travel and business cover, and car cover made up AED 503 million of its AED 518 million gross contributions in 2024. Its largest shareholder is Burgan Takaful of Kuwait, with 36.43%.
The auditor gave an adverse opinion on the 2024 accounts and cited significant doubt about the company's ability to continue as a going concern. The 2025 accounts had not been published at 5 November 2026.7

Methaq sells comprehensive and third party car cover to drivers, online, in its app, by phone and through approved brokers. Businesses can buy motor fleet cover.

Check before you buy
- On a third party policy, if you caused the accident your own car is not covered.13
- Methaq's claim guide video says that if someone insured with Methaq hit you and you have comprehensive cover, you should contact your own insurer, and that it compensates you only if your own policy is third party. Its app listing says you can claim against that driver's Methaq policy even if you are not a customer.13
- Do not start repairs at a private workshop until inspection is complete and the repair approval is issued.13
- Policybazaar.ae lists off-road cover and agency repair as excluded on the comprehensive garage plan it sells, and third party liability as UAE only.23

If the car cannot be driven, choose roadside assistance under the motor claims icon on Methaq's website. The call centre is on 600 565 695.13
Steps
- Get a police report for the accident.3
- Go to claim.methaq.ae or the app and answer the eligibility questions.14
- Fill in the form with your contact details, policy number, accident report number and vehicle details as shown on the registration.13
- Upload your documents and submit.13
- Wait for your claim number by email or WhatsApp.13
- Take the car to the inspection location Methaq sends you after approval.13
- Wait for repair authorisation, then the workshop location and expected repair time.13
- Allow up to 48 hours for your submitted claim to be reviewed.13
- Allow 3 working days after inspection for the repair authorisation.13

Financial strength
The auditor gave an adverse opinion on the 2024 accounts, saying they do not present the company's position fairly. It cited significant doubt about the company's ability to continue as a going concern, a shortfall of about AED 1.1 billion against Central Bank solvency requirements at 31 December 2024, and a risk of not meeting its obligations over the next 12 months. The 2025 accounts had not been published at 5 November 2026.
